Our client, a major multi-faceted organization seeks a Commercial Real Estate Legal Coordinator to join their Commercial department in Manhattan to support the property and project management groups with the resolution of violations associated with Commercial Properties. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years commercial real estate, zoning and construction violations experience and basic knowledge of New York City commercial codes/processes. The incumbent will attend Environmental Control Board and Department of Building hearings in order to resolve/address violations.
 
 
Major Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Project Management team to monitor and update status for all violations.
  • Prepare all documentation (affidavits/photos)/ data needed and represent the company in court hearings
  • Coordinate the scheduling, attendance and follow up of court hearings
  • Work with external vendors and various government agencies to resolve pending issues
  •  Report ancillary items to the Director of Project Management

 
Job Requirements:
·         5+ years  experience  in commercial real estate resolving various violations including building maintenance, zoning and construction.

  • Strong knowledge of the violation dismissal process and resources available (i.e. FDNY, DoB, DoT & DEP websites

·         Excellent project management and communications skills (written/verbal).
·         Highly proficient in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
·         Bachelor’s degree required; pre–law major ideal
