Description
A global financial institution with offices in New York is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst with 2 – 5 years of experience to join their Credit Risk Management Team.
The incumbent will be responsible for conducting financial/credit analysis of corporations and banking entities and will support the underwriting process. This individual must have superior credit analysis skills, including financial modeling and financial statement analysis, as well as solid writing skills.
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth financial / credit analysis of domestic and international corporates and financial institutions (specifically banks)
- Conduct industry trend and market analysis – develop and modify financial models and generate risk ratings
- Develop written credit memos / credit write ups for Credit Committee
- Perform financial statement analysis
- Analyze credit and political risk
- Assist in the monitoring of the global risk portfolio to ensure compliance with internal risk parameters
· Review and summarize country political and macroeconomic conditions
- Perform company research and present to credit committee, senior underwriters and management
- Interact (in-person and phone) with clients and rating agencies to complete the assessment of transaction risks
- Analyze corporations’ background – operating performances, financial health, etc
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of corporate credit analysis experience
- Superior analytical skills – financial modeling, with specific experience analyzing financials statements of banks and corporations
- Experience with credit reviews and writing credit memos
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral
- Bachelor’s degree
- Formal credit training is strongly preferred
