The Department of Systems and Information Engineering (SIE) at the University of Virginia is seeking to fill a position of Data Analyst to support a diverse set of ongoing research efforts. The Department of Systems and Information Engineering (SIE) at the University of Virginia has an immediate opening for a Data Analyst.
The ideal candidate will have interests that align with the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Logistics Systems to perform systems analysis in the following topics: (i) Large-scale systems and financial engineering; (ii) Dependability, reliability, security and trust; (iii) Human factors – demographics, workforce, behaviors and enterprise processes; (iv) Risk management; and (v) Business knowledge, expertise, evidence, elicitation and decision. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required in Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. With UVa and several university partners, the Data Analyst will support research on logistics management, supply chains, logistics, freight, transportation, economic impacts, security, contingency operations, and related topics. Understanding and experience of the needs of the military and industry are desirable. The Department’s National Research Council program ranking, its collaborative relationships, and its strategic commitment to logistics and systems, make this a timely opportunity for the Data Analyst. The Department has 19 full-time faculty, 100 undergraduate students per year, 90 graduate students in PhD, MS, and ME degree programs.
