Our client, a major International Bank with offices in New York is seeking a Vice President, Credit Analyst- Commodities and Structured Trade Finance to join their Investment Banking Credit Division.  The incumbent will be responsible for commercial lending business including structured trade finance, commodity trade finance and capital asset leasing.  The ideal candidate must have 8+ years of experience in credit analysis focusing on credit and risk principles, as well as in-depth knowledge of Latin American markets, especially Brazil. 
$140K - $150K range
 
Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate credit applications, monitor existing portfolio and make recommendations to management.
  • Monitor assigned credits including workout / classified assets through credit review process.
  • Evaluate credit review applications and periodic reports and make rating recommendations to management.
  • Conduct site visits and due diligence, as well as attend bank / customer meetings as required.
  • Guide and support business lines, product groups, examination function, risk management function on credit and risk related issues.
  • Perform related duties and participate in special assignments, projects and planning function as required.

 
Job Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in credit analysis focusing on structured trade finance in Latin America and commodity trade transaction.
  • Capable of handling complex transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-linguistic capability is preferred- English and Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Formal credit training highly preferred.
