About the EventIn 2009 the SRA Annual Meeting will be held at the Renaissance Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. The theme of the meeting is Risk Analysis: The Evolution of a Science. Open Meeting on Future SRA Public Information Activities: Tuesday, December 8 at 5:30 PM in Baltimore A The Communications Committee has been charged by the SRA Council to assess current public information activities and to investigate possible new ones to bring SRA more national recognition. The committee is sponsoring an open meeting to get feedback from members on what SRA should be doing about future public information activities in the RISK newsletter and the Web site and with news releases that are currently being issued monthly to the media on selected articles from Risk Analysis. Should SRA follow many other societies and have a presence in the social media on Facebook and Twitter? This would offer SRA news and basic information to a different audience. Should SRA have more media coverage for its annual meetings? These are just a few of the questions under consideration. We would like input on them as well as other ideas that members might have. |
