You are welcome to apply for the 2016 Gulf Research Program Early-Career Research Fellowships and Science Policy Fellowships.
These fellowships offer early-career researchers and professionals in the social and behavioral sciences, health and medicine, engineering, earth and life sciences, and relevant interdisciplinary fields a unique opportunity to focus on leadership development while conducting research or work that is relevant to the mission and goals of the Gulf Research Program.
The Early-Career Research Fellowships recognize professionals at the critical pretenure phase of their careers for exceptional leadership, past performance, and potential for future contributions to improving oil system safety, human health and wellbeing, or the environment in the Gulf region. These two-year fellowships are awarded to tenure-track faculty (or equivalent) at colleges, universities, and research institutions.
The Science Policy Fellowships are awarded to doctoral students or those who have completed their graduate studies within the past five years who demonstrate a strong scientific or technical background, superior academic achievement, and leadership qualities. This year’s fellows will spend a year at a state environmental, natural resources, oil and gas, or public health agency, or the regional office of a relevant federal agency in the Gulf of Mexico.
To learn more about these fellowships or to apply, please visit the Gulf Research Program’s website. Applications for both fellowships are due on February 17, 2016 at 11:59pm ET.
