Abstracts are due May 30 for the Third Congress of the Latin American SRA regional organization at the National University of Lanús in Argentina on October 1 to 3.
The theme of the meeting is “Development and Risk in the Latin American Context.” The meeting will be held jointly with the First National Conference of Urban Risk, “Risk Analysis for a Comprehensive Management.”
The Latin American regional organization of the Society for Risk Analysis was created on June 6, 2008, in the context of the SRA’s Second World Congress on Risk in Guadalajara, Mexico. The upcoming 2014 SRA-Latin America Congress is being organized in cooperation with the Department of Productive Development and Technology of the University of Lanús.
The organizers note that “SRA-LA believes that the Latin American community can develop itself in both technical and socioeconomic aspects, to cope with risks inherent to the sustainable development. That is the reason to make this Conference a success, and we are confident to achieve this goal with the support of all participants.”
More information about the Congress can be found here. (This page provides links to both Spanish and English versions of the Call for Papers, plus other materials.) Additional information will be posted as it becomes available. SRA-Latin America members receive a discount on the registration fee and special rates have also been created for students.
