It was also this year a great annual meeting with many interesting talks, symposia and roundtables.
See slides at www.sra.org/frasg. We had very good discussions about risk analysis and science, uncertainty and transparency, and risk governance, to mentioned three specific topics. A collaboration is established between the SG on foundation and the SG on Applied Risk Management on the development of a document on “Principles and Guidelines for Applied Risk Management”. A draft version of the document “Core Subjects of Risk Analysis” has been produced, see www.sra.org/frasg. For comments and suggestions to this document, please contact email@example.com (deadline February 28, 2017).
Several suggestions for topics to be further discussed were made during the SG meeting, including studies of the link between resilience and risk, and between sustainability and risk.
New Chair of the SG on foundational issues in risk analysis is Associate Professor Seth Guikema, University of Michigan (firstname.lastname@example.org). Vice-Chair is Dr. Roger Flage, University of Stavanger (email@example.com). Terje Aven will support the work as Past-Chair.
Terje Aven has been elected as SRA President-Elect and will chair the planning of the SRA Annual meeting in Arlington, Virginia December 10-14, 2017. Hope to see many of you there. Deadline for submission of sessions and abstracts will be sometime in May. The Meeting provides a great opportunity to address and make visible foundational issues in risk analysis.
Please contact Aven, Guikema or Flage if you have some ideas on further developing the field and science of risk analysis. It could for example relate to webinars, workshops, symposia or projects.
