Learn the Science of Risk Assessment
Develop your capacity to identify and assess health risks posed by environmental hazards.
Participants in this program learn to manage and evaluate risk assessments associated with occupational, food-borne, and environmental hazards. This cutting-edge, comprehensive course ensures participants are ready to apply the science of risk-based decision making to protect the publics’ health and the environment.
This program enhances your knowledge of how risk analysis is done, how it is interpreted, and how it influences regulatory decision-making. Participants from diverse backgrounds will improve their ability to identify and quantify health risks, understand how risk information is perceived and communicated, and apply this information across industries and sectors.
Prepare your organization to proactively address health risks posed by hazards in the environment.
As the public becomes increasingly concerned about hazards in the environment, government agencies and private organizations need to determine the possible effects these stressors will have on human health. Risk analysis identifies health problems caused by environmental hazards, projects health outcomes that will manifest at different exposure levels, and predicts the impact of exposure on a range of target populations.
Program participants will learn key frameworks in epidemiology and toxicology required for health risk assessment, explore applications to diverse risk assessment and management problems, and build a strong foundation in quantitative risk assessment.
