ERM is seeking a Human Health Risk Assessor/Toxicologist to join our growing Product Stewardship team in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will provide project management and senior technical assistance on human health and ecological risk assessment supporting product stewardship and compliance projects.


Manage and provide technical expertise on human health exposure assessment, toxicology, and environmental health risk assessment.

Conduct hazard and toxicological reviews to support product stewardship projects.

Manage, query, review and analyze large chemical and biological data sets.

Prepare for and participate in project-based community meetings and interact with regulators on behalf of clients.

Prepare written reports, including data summaries, exposure and effects assessment, risk assessment calculation and summary tables, and preparation of report text.

Mentor junior/intermediate staff and provide senior review of reports and documents.

Oversee multiple projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

Coordinate with ERM offices in North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe regions on national and international project delivery.

Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.


Masters or PhD (preferred) degree in toxicology, biology or a closely related discipline.

Minimum of 3 to 7 years of direct experience in risk assessment (human health or ecological), using both measured environmental data and predictive models to estimate risk.

Strong quantitative skills and experience managing and analyzing large datasets using Excel and/or Access. Strong statistical analysis skills are a benefit.

Strong writing and communication skills, experience delivering successful presentations, and ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

Willingness to travel to client project sites or to attend meetings, and work extended hours if necessary.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Ability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.
