SOCIETY FOR RISK ANALYSIS ANNOUNCES 2022 COUNCIL

HERNDON, VA. (Dec. 13, 2021) – At the 2021 Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) virtual Annual Meeting, five new Council members were announced, and SRA welcomed the new President of its’ 2022 Council, Ragnar Lofstedt, Ph.D., King’s College London. Lofstedt succeeds Robyn Wilson, Ph.D., The Ohio State University, who has completed her term and continues to serve on Council as past-president.

Other newly elected include president-elect, Katherine von Stackelberg, Sc.D., Harvard University, and treasurer-elect, Jonathan Welburn, RAND Corporation. The newly elected SRA Council members are Sandra Seno-Alday, Ph.D., University of Sydney, Peg Coleman, Coleman Scientific Counseling, and Louie Rivers, Ph.D., North Carolina State University.

As the new SRA President, Lofstedt together with the Council is committed to enhancing communication within the risk community. Lofstedt strives to diversify the Society by strengthening ties between SRA and policy makers, fostering increased interest in the SRA Annual Meeting for graduate students and early career professionals, and promoting international involvement in Society activities.

Council members who will continue to serve include Weihsueh Chiu, Ph.D., Texas A&M University; Nick Pidgeon, Ph.D., Cardiff University; Benjamin Trump, Ph.D., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; Amina Wilkins, U.S. EPA; Amanda Boyd, Ph.D., Washington State University; James Hammitt, Ph.D., Harvard University; Marja Ylönen, Ph.D.,  University of Stavanger,  Roshanak Nateghi, Ph.D., Purdue University and Brett Burk, SRA Executive Secretariat.
