Eleven Honored by Society for Risk Analysis

HERNDON, Va., December 19, 2022 — The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) awarded five prestigious scholarly and service awards and named six new fellows at this year’s Annual Meeting. These awardees were recognized for their exceptional contributions to SRA and to the risk analysis community. The award recipients were nominated by their peers, selected by an SRA committee, and approved by the SRA Council. This year’s awardees include:

2022 SRA Distinguished Achievement Award – Jack Fowle, Ph.D., DABT, from Science to Inform LLC and former Senior Environmental Science Manager and EPA. For his extraordinary achievement and leadership in science over many years.

2022 SRA Chauncey Starr Award – Benjamin Douglas Trump, Ph.D., from US Army Engineer Research and Development Center. Given to a professional age 40 or younger, Trump is recognized for his remarkable record of research and service.

2022 SRA Distinguished Educator Award – Vicki Marion Bier, Ph.D., from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for her contributions to teaching new students in risk analysis topics. 

2022 SRA Outstanding Practitioner Award –Robin Cantor, Ph.D., from Berkeley Research Group, for her substantial contributions to the practice of risk analysis.

2022 SRA Richard J. Burk Outstanding Service Award – Dong Chun,  Ph.D., from Yonsei University College of Medicine, for his service to the Society and overall contributions to risk analysis.

The 2022 class of SRA Fellows were selected for their achievements in science or public policy relating to risk analysis and substantial service to the Society. Fellows include: Frederic Bouder, Ph.D.,University of Stavanger, Jeffrey M .Keisler, Ph.D., University of Massachusetts Boston, Seda Kundak, Ph.D., Istanbul Technical University, Adam Rose, Ph.D. Donald Schaffner, Ph.D., Rutgers University, Jun Zhuang, Ph.D., University at Buffalo.[NJ2]
