Washington, D.C., December 9, 2025 – The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) awarded five prestigious scholarly and service awards and named five new fellows at this year’s Annual Meeting. These awardees were recognized for their exceptional contributions to SRA and to the risk analysis community. The award recipients were nominated by their peers, selected by an SRA committee, and approved by the SRA Council. This year’s awardees include:
2025 SRA Distinguished Achievement Award – Warner North, Ph.D., principal scientist of NorthWorks, for his extraordinary achievement and leadership in the field of risk analysis.
2025 SRA Chauncey Starr Award – Sayanti Mukherjee, Ph.D., from University at Buffalo, for her excellence in risk analysis research and practice for a risk analyst aged 40 or under.
2025 SRA Distinguished Educator Award – M. Elisabeth Pate-Cornell, Ph.D., from Stanford University, for her contributions educating students and the global public on risk analysis topics.
2025 SRA Outstanding Practitioner Award – Kenneth Crowther, Ph.D., from Xylem Inc., a global water technology company, for his extensive contributions in applied risk analysis.
2025 SRA Richard J. Burk Outstanding Service Award – James H. Lambert, Ph.D., from University of Virginia, for his selfless service to the Society and decades-long contributions to risk analysis.
The 2025 class of SRA Fellows were selected for their achievements in science or public policy relating to risk analysis and substantial service to the Society. Fellows include Greg Paoli, Risk Sciences International, Jade Mitchell, Ph.D., Michigan State University, Kuen-Yuh Wu, Ph.D., National Taiwan University, Marja Ylönen, University of Stavanger, Robert O’Connor, Ph.D., National Science Foundation.
