A New Computer Tool to Evaluate Risk Analysis Quality

Wed. 2 September 2020 11:00 am

The Applied Risk Management Specialty Group (ARMSG) is setting out to improve the quality of risk analysis and risk management as it is applied in the real world. To that end, it has developed a set of 76 questions, grouped into 15 categories, that can be used by risk managers and risk analysis practitioners to evaluate the quality of risk analyses and to support effective risk management. That set of questions is called the Risk Analysis Quality Test (RAQT). The question set was developed through a comprehensive process involving 19 authors over several years. In December 2019 the RAQT was accepted by SRA leadership as an official SRA document. The RAQT can be downloaded by clicking this link.

Now, in 2020, the ARMSG is developing a web-based evaluation tool to administer the RAQT. It guides the respondent through all of the questions, records the answers and automatically generates reports of the answers. This webinar will demonstrate the tool, then ask for critical responses, including suggestions on how it can be improved before it is finalized and launched, how to move forward to get the tool used by risk analysis practitioners and risk managers, and how to ensure continuous improvement in the future. The webinar will be run as a workshop, and will be of interest to all SRA members who want to improve the quality of risk analysis and risk management as applied in the real world.
